Frequently Asked Questions

Q.What is the difference between an automotive detailer and a carwash cafe?

A. The main difference is in the title. Detail. Where carwash cafes rely on a bulk flow of clientelle, a detailer will generally devote their time to one car at a time, allowing them to work towards perfection, rather than just a minimum standard. It is not uncommon for a detailer to spend 10 hours, 15 hours or even longer on paint correction work in order to ensure your car looks and feels its best. In fact, about the only thing a detailer has in common with a carwash cafe is they both tend to make terrible coffee.

Q. Does my new car need detailing?

A. As a rule, yes. At minimum, it would be a good idea to apply some proper protecton to the paintwork. However, more often than not, new cars are victims of transport scuffs, swirls from poor cleaning in storage, contaminants embedded in the paint in transit and any number of other paint defects. These defects are often hidden with products containing fillers before you take it home, but they will inevitably reappear after a couple of washes when the fillers wash out. Proper detailing can give your new car the best possible start in life and keep it looking as it was intended to look.

Q. How much do paint corrections cost?

A. All paint defects and imperfections are individual, and really need to be treated as such. Also, different manufacturers use different paint systems and those systems can even vary from car to car. So while I can generally give an idea of price without seeing the car, it's impossible to provide a concrete quote until the car is able to be evaluated. However, the vast majority of cars do fit into the basic pricing layout. For more information, please use the email form in the Contact page or call me direct.
